Each week I will be breaking down the DraftKings Showdown Slates on Monday, Thursday and Sunday night football. The DraftKings showdown slate is one of the more unique game styles that you can pick from on DraftKings.

When playing a showdown lineup you will notice that it is far different from a standard DraftKings contest. Instead of selecting a full roster of position players you have a Captain slot paired with five flex positions. The player you select as your Captain will score 1.5x the standard fantasy point value for each statistic but drafting a player as the Captain will cost you more salary than using them in your flex position. The DraftKings Showdown slate will consist of the same scoring as all other contests not counting the Captain bonus.

Some numbers to keep in mind when building lineups for your showdown slates. Last season the winning lineup had a running back or wide receiver in the Captain slot 71% of the time on the largest prize pool showdown contests.

All Captain selections are major flex considerations

Another slate that we will be in a holding pattern till inactive’s are announced. Be sure to follow me on twitter @jdebuch as I will tweet out pivots once inactive’s are announced.

DraftKings Showdown Slate GPP Builds: Rams vs Ravens
Captain-

Aaron Jones $14,400 –

The 49ers have struggled of late against the run as they’re 19th in rushing efficiency and 23rd in rushing success rate. In the last month of the season the 49ers have allowed 5.6 yards per-carry per bettheboard.com . With the Packers coming off of a bye week, I would look for the Packers to exploit the 49ers on the ground while setting up play-action pass. When given double-digit touches, Jones averages 24 fantasy points per game. I am expecting 15+ touches from Aaron Jones on Sunday night making him a must at Captain and a core play in the flex.

Davante Adams $14,100 –

Having totaled double-digit targets in his last three games and his turf-toe behind him, Adams is one of my favorite Captain plays on tomorrows slate. Not only is he one of the most heavily targeted players in the league, but he is also one of the most targeted receivers in the red-zone making him a core play in at Captain or flex. Be sure to pair Rodgers with Adams in all Captained lineups.

George Kittle $12,600 –

If Kittle plays tomorrow, he is a must in some of your Captain builds as the Packers allow the 4th most points to opposing tight ends. Having seen eight or more targets in five of his eight games played, Kittle is a core play for me on this slate. My only concern with Kittle is his health and if he can stay on the field. While Kittle is a core play, I will fade him in some builds should he get knocked out of the game.

Other Captain options to differentiate your lineups and give you a chance at the 250k top prize.

Tevin Coleman $13,500 –

The Packers allow 23 fantasy points to running backs which is the 5th most in the NFL. With Matt Breida out, Coleman is likely to see an increased role in a fantastic matchup. Having only one game in which he failed to reach 10 touches in a game this season, Coleman is a lock for 13+ touches and is one of my core plays in at flex while adding a few shares in at Captain.
