DraftKings NBA Power Forwards:

Best Bets:

Anthony Davis ($9,700): Davis is always a risk on LeBron’s team, but the Spurs have not stopped anyone up front. This is one of those games where Davis could take over and LeBron takes a back seat, but that’s a dangerous way to bet. However, Davis is $1,500 less than LeBron. If you are using one of them, Davis is far more likely to flirt with 6x value.

Jonathan Isaac ($7,900): Isaac has been a holy terror over the last two games with Gordon and Vucevic out. Guess who’s out again? That’s right. Isaac is the key component of this frontcourt and unlike Gordon, Isaac not only handles the extra responsibilities, he seems to thrive on it. Isaac is one of the better plays of the night.

Wendell Carter ($6,500): Carter is very inconsistent, but all of his big games come against teams that are weaker up front. Few are weaker than Portland right now. Whiteside likely returns tonight, but he is all rim protector and very little defender. Carter could have a really nice game for the price here.

Honorable Mention:

Robert Covington ($5,900): Covington is a key piece of this team and puts up stats on both sides of the ball. Everyone on the team has upside against Atlanta. Vegas thinks both teams are going to allow a ton of points. I tend to agree, so I’m looking heavily to both teams for value.

Larry Nance ($5,700): Nance put up good numbers with Love out on Saturday. The Nets don’t defend the interior well at all, even with Jordan there. I prefer Thompson, but if you’re on a budget, Nance could provide some really good numbers for this price.

Nemanja Bjelica ($5,600): Bjelica continues to put up very good numbers for the price. I don’t trust Boston’s ability to defend this post with Horford and Baynes gone. Bjelica isn’t going to go much above 6x value, but his floor is 5x value. He’s a strong play in any format.

Dark Horses:

Lauri Markkanen ($5,500): Markkanen has been a miserable 4-21 from the floor over the last two games. He isn’t really providing other numbers either. He was such a force last year that this horrendous start is really concerning. I want to buy in on the ground floor against Portland, but if Markkanen doesn’t get it going here, he may not at all. Matchups wont get any better than this.

Carmelo Anthony ($5,000): There’s still some rust with Melo, but more concerning than that has to be his lack of peripheral numbers. Melo has just 13 rebounds, five assists, two steals, and eight turnovers in three games. The 39 points are solid, but there’s not a lot to go with it. So why is he on here? Melo’s running with the Bulls tonight. There’s good upside tonight.

Omari Spellman ($4,900): Spellman is seeing good minutes up front and putting up solid numbers. The most successful value plays are the ones that have a solid and reliable floor but good upside. Most of the Golden State team qualifies tonight against a struggling Thunder team.
