DraftKings college football showdown captain pick November 28

John Rhys Plumlee will do the leg work for Ole Miss. He was their default primary running back against LSU. His running ability along with the 200+ passing yards makes him the best captain play, but that only leaves us with $6,100 to spend per flex slot. This can be done, but it means you’ll have to pass on all of the big pieces of the Mississippi State offense and likely have to use at least one kicker.

I’m leaning towards a more balanced build. In order to do that, we have to skimp a little at captain. Kylin Hill is the most consistent piece. He even came up with 14.6 DraftKings points against Alabama. Even with Hill though, our allowance for flex spots is just $6,760.

You know my feelings about using WR as the captain, and that stance is exacerbated by the lines of Osirus Mitchell. He’s the best Bulldogs receiver, but only has three receptions in the last four games. Elijah Moore has big games for Ole Miss when they really count, but he disappeared against Auburn. Using Moore at captain does allow us a lot more flexibility in flex spots though. We just have to hope he has a game like he did against LSU.

Ole Miss does have a running back. He actually does pretty well. Despite Plumlee leading the team in rushing a couple of times, Jerrion Ealy still has double digit DraftKings points against everyone but Missouri since his first full game. I’m comfortable enough to use him at captain to get what I want in flex plays.

If you don’t mind going a little cheaper, Nick Gibson has 29 carries in the last three games with 238 yards and a pair of touchdowns. He is still the backup to Kylin Hill, but given the issues at QB and receiver, Gibson in a strong candidate for 8-10 touches again. As we’ve seen, he does pretty well with that kind of workload.
