DraftKings NBA Shooting Guards:

Best Bets:

Devin Booker ($8,200): Matchups don’t seem to matter much with Booker. He’s either on or off and it has little to do with the team facing him. That makes him nearly impossible to use for DFS purposes. His price is a little high for a GPP dart throw, but with a plus matchup on a slate without many elite options, I don’t have an issue with it.

Zach LaVine ($7,900): LaVine is in the position that Booker was in last year: elite scorer on a bad team. That’s great for DFS. LaVine takes roughly 20 shots per game. He’s shot 48 times over the last two games. The thing about LaVine is that he doesn’t need the points to make value. They more enhance value than anything else. LaVine is good for a half dozen assists and rebounds per game. The same isn’t true for Booker.

Donovan Mitchell ($7,800): Mitchell put up 42.75 DraftKings points in the first meeting with the Sixers in Salt Lake, but this has been a tough road trip for Mitchell. He hasn’t hit 38 DraftKings points once in the four games and has been below 30 twice. Poor shooting is only part of the problem. Lack of peripheral stats are what is sapping his value right now.

Honorable Mention:

Devonte Graham ($7,200): Graham continues to be a revelation for Charlotte. Paired with Rozier, the Charlotte guards are at least fun to watch. Graham’s floor is still in the mid to high 20’s, which is getting dangerously low seeing how his price is jumping. Still, Graham has at least 34 DraftKings points in five of the last six games. The floor doesn’t come along very often.

Jeremy Lamb ($6,300): Lamb put up 33 DraftKings points on Memphis exactly a week ago, so he seems fairly priced. He’s a strong compliment to Brogdon, but neither one of them are elite scorers. This is a pretty balanced team, so don’t expect miracles from Lamb. What you can expect is good value for cash games.

Alec Burks ($6,000): Burks is on here mainly for his opponent. The Hawks don’t defend any position well, but SG is statistically the worst. We have seen Burks hit in the 40’s a few times with Russell out, so we know what the upside is. The issue with Burks has been the floor. It’s low, and we see it sometimes multiple times per week.

Dark Horses:

Tomas Satoransky ($5,300): Satoransky was serviceable playing second fiddle to Beal in Washington last year. He has assumed that role this year as well with LaVine. Satoransky has at least 30 DraftKings points in four of the last six games. That mark seems likely against the Kings tonight as well at a very reasonable price.

Damyean Dotson ($3,400): Dotson got good run last game, putting up 24 DraftKings points in 32 minutes. The minutes aren’t guaranteed, of course. That’s Dotson’s season high in minutes. He played well last year when the Knicks let him. It’s probably best to avoid this mess, but something keeps bringing us back to the Knicks. We’re suckers for cheapies.
