1. Vikings -2.5

The NFC’s least talked about contender is the Minnesota Vikings, who find themselves one game back of the Green Bay Packers in the NFC North. Minnesota bounced back from a brutal loss in Seattle by effortlessly beating the Detroit Lions on Sunday.

The Vikings have gotten to be a very efficient offense behind the Dalvin Cook-led rushing attack, taking the onus off of Kirk Cousins to do it all. Cook already has over 1,100 yards rushing and 13 touchdowns this season, which is a nice complement to the Vikings’ strong defense.

Mike Zimmer’s defensive unit may not be as good as some recent editions, but it still a quality unit capable of making life difficult for the opposition on a regular basis. The one qualm with the Vikings is their poor road record, as they are just 3-4 away from U.S. Bank Arena.

That record might explain why the Vikings are only 2.5 point favorites in their final road game of the season, a trip out to the StubHub Center to take on the 5-8 Los Angeles Chargers. The Bolts got back in the win column by dismantling the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday, but they are still playing out the string in the AFC and may be officially eliminated from playoff contention by the end of the week.

The difference in ability between the Vikings and Chargers is massive, and a simple field goal win covers the number for Minnesota. That makes this a very easy choice to tab the Vikings as the best bet of the week in the NFL.
