2020 NFL mock draft: Tua Tagovailoa lands with Chargers
By Brad Weiss
The Washington Redskins went into their game against the Green Bay Packers on the road sporting a two-game winning streak since turning the franchise over to 2019 first rounder Dwayne Haskins. Despite his first-year struggles, Haskins has looked good at times, and will certainly be the man in Washington for years to come.
Now that they have their quarterback, Washington has to start thinking about putting weapons around him, and blockers in front of him. Their offensive line has been atrocious this season, so it would make sense that the organization would go out and get the best offensive lineman available in the 2020 NFL Draft class.
Andrew Thomas from Georgia is a mountain of a man, and on this Redskins offensive line, he would slide right in as the starting left tackle as a rookie. If Haskins is ever going to become a solid NFL quarterback, they have to keep him upright, and Thomas would be a nice start to what should be an overhaul of the roster in Washington this offseason.
The Miami Dolphins have played hard under first-year head coach Brian Flores this season, and you have to think that if they had a couple more wins, he would be in contention for Coach of the Year honors. Despite a depleted roster, Flores has his team in every game, and they nearly won another against division rival New York on Sunday.
In the 2020 NFL Draft, Miami will hold three first round picks, and that should give them enough draft capital to start to turn this thing around. Remember, this is a team with five first rounders over the next two season, and now that they have the right head coach in place, they could soon be a contender in an AFC East division that has been dominated by New England for so long.
Looking at the roster, they need to get their quarterback first and foremost, and they could get an elite prospect with the No. 4 overall pick in Justin Herbert. Herbert may be the most NFL-ready quarterback in this draft class, and based on what we saw at Oregon, he is going to be a good one at the NFL level quickly.
