Damian Sellers. 30. player. 836. . OLB. Bruins

  • High School: Saguaro (Scottsdale, AZ)
  • Composite Ranking: No. 183, No. 15 OLB

Scottsdale Saguaro is a football factory in Arizona, so it should come as no surprise they have multiple of the top remaining uncommitted recruits. One of those is outside linebacker Damian Sellers.

The outside linebacker finished with 65 tackles and 8.5 sacks in 2019. At 6-foot-4 and 205 pounds, Sellers already has a great frame that he can continue to add mass to as he looks to become a pass-rushing force at the next level.

He has offers from the top programs across the country, but it is the rebuilding job at UCLA where Sellers could end up. The recruit had an official visit back in November and the experts at 247 believe that he will end up a Bruin.

After a 5-7 season, Chip Kelly needs to see a huge turnaround in his third year with the program to keep his job. A big way to help ensure his future would be to land a strong recruiting class. Sellers would be a nice piece for UCLA.

Prediction: UCLA

Huskies . Jacobe Covington. 29. player. 818. . CB

  • High School: Saguaro (Scottsdale, AZ)
  • Composite Ranking: No. 182, No. 13 CB

Once again, another Saguaro product is still up for grabs and it’s yet another talented cornerback. Much has been made about the top cornerback recruit in the nation, Kelee Ringo from the Scottsdale high school.

However, opposite him is another dynamic player. Jacobe Covington is the 13th-ranked cornerback in this year’s class. Covington is another long corner with the ability to shut down one end of the field.

Like Ringo, Covington does a great job closing the gap quickly and breaking up pass attempts. He’s going to find his way into a starting role very quickly at the college level.

Covington would be a fine fit into the defensive system of new head coach Jimmy Lake at Washington, where he paid a visit earlier this year. He wouldn’t be the first player from Saguaro to go to the Huskies, either following in the footsteps of Byron Murphy.

Washington has proven to be a great school at developing players in the secondary. This would be a great land for them.

Prediction: Washington
