Women’s Division

No. 1 — RIHO (last week: 1)

RIHO was in the audience this week to watch the No. 1 contenders match to see who she’ll be facing on January 1.

No. 2 — Kris Statlander (last week: unranked)

Statlander has had an excellent start in AEW. She had a No. 1 contender match after just four matches, where she’s undefeated in singles competition.  On Dark, Statlander beat Bea Priestley. The next night, Statlander was able to work her way out of Baker’s grasp before the Lock Jaw. Although she was hit with a Superkick, Statlander was once again able to escape before the Lock Jaw and hit the Big Bang Theory for the win for the second night in a row.

During the match, the Nightmare Collective came to root on Statlander. After the match, they once again tried to recruit The Alien to join their ranks. When she turned them down, Brandi Rhodes hit her with her heel. Sadie Gibbs came to her aid.

No. 3 — Britt Baker (last week: unranked)

Ahead of her No. 1 contender match, Baker faced Machiko on Dark. Baker hit a discus lariat and controlled most of the match. She was able to get the Lock Jaw in on her opponent for a win.

The next night, Baker quickly dropped Statlander after the latter did cartwheels around the ring. Baker tried to get her submission in twice, but failed. Ultimately, Baker lost the match.

No. 4 — Awesome Kong (last week: unranked)

Awesome Kong made quick work of Miranda Alicea with a double under hook face buster. She followed up the victory by cutting a lock of her opponent’s hair to add to her collection.

No. 5 — The Nightmare Collective (last week: 6)

Awesome Kong had a match and the Collective still tried to recruit Kris Statlander. Now that’s she’s turned them down, how will the trio respond? And who is the mysterious man in the vignette?

No. 6 — Allie (last week: 5)

Allie/The Bunny did plenty to distract Cody during his match with The Butcher and The Blade. She even slammed him face first into the ringpost. It didn’t matter as Cody got the pin.

No. 7 — Bea Priestley (last week: unranked)

Bea did what she always does–bend the rules. She tried for the Cheeky Nandos (popularized by Will Ospreay; someone Priestley is quite familiar with), but Statlander reversed it. The “Top Gaijin” successfully hit a German Suplex and stomped Statlander, but it wasn’t enough for the win.

No. 8 — Machiko (last week: unranked)

Machiko had her first AEW match on Dark against Britt Baker. Baker controlled most of the match and Machiko barely got in any offense. It would’ve been nice to have seen more, but it was a showcase for the dentist.

No. 9 — Miranda Alicea (last week: unranked)

Alicea was another AEW debut this week. Unfortunately for Alicea, she was defeated in just 35 seconds by Awesome Kong.
