This week’s AEW Power Rankings feature champions on top and a closer look at who is on the rise in the men’s, women’s and tag team divisions.

The December 18 episode of Dynamite is the last show of the year. It will return on January 1 live from Jacksonville, FL. On Dark, we had two women’s matches, the tag team champions in action and a great six-man main event. On Dynamite, “Le Champion” faced Jungle Boy in a non-title match. There was also a No. 1 contender match for the AEW Women’s Championship. SCU put their titles on the line against Young Bucks.

With all of this in mind, here’s the final AEW Power Rankings of 2019.

Men’s Division

No. 1 — Chris Jericho (last week: 1)

A few weeks ago, Jericho said his contract specified one more match and was challenged by Jungle Boy. It was a non-title match and “Le Champion” told his competitor he wouldn’t last ten minutes with him.

The champion was nearly defeated several times. In the closing minutes, Jericho utilized the Walls of Jericho, but time expired. Since the match was a draw, Jericho demanded five more minutes. After realizing that he still couldn’t beat Jungle Boy, he left the ring.

No. 2 — Jungle Boy (last week: ranked with tag teams)

Jungle Boy confidently challenged AEW World Champion Jericho in a non-title match and declared he could go ten minutes with one of the best. Although Jack Hager slammed him down at the beginning of the match, Jungle Boy nearly pinned Jericho right after. He also nailed three consecutive topes suicidas, followed by a diving DDT and a backstabber. When Jericho missed with the Lionsault, Jungle Boy successfully hit the move on his opponent. He was able to hang on the full ten minutes to a draw. Even after Jericho demanded five more minutes, Jungle Boy hit him with a huricanrana. Jericho left Jungle Boy right after.

No. 3 — Cody (last week: 10)

After losing last week, Darby Allin offered his hand and his service to Cody on one condition–give him a rematch if they win. Cody accepted and the duo took on The Butcher & The Blade. After being distracted a few times by The Bunny, Cody hits the CrossRhodes. He and Allin do stereo tope suicidas. Cody got the win with a Cody Cutter.

No. 4— Darby Allin (last week: unranked)

It had been a while since we’d seen Allin. After locking up with The Butcher, he mostly kept on the apron while Cody was isolated. Darby hit a Code Red on The Butcher, but The Blade was the legal man, so he couldn’t pin him. After the stereo tope suicidas, Allin hit the Coffin Drop on The Butcher allowing Cody to get the pin on The Blade.

No. 5 — PAC (last week: unranked)

PAC teamed with The Hybrid 2 in the Dark main event. PAC hit a Blue Thunder Bomb early in the match. He later faced off against Orange Cassidy, much to the fans’ delight. He took several kicks and a DDT from Cassidy. PAC and Angelico nailed stereo 450 Splashes. PAC got the win with The Brutalizer.

The next night, he taunted Kenny Omega by seemingly harming his good friend, Michael Nakazawa.

No. 6 — Kenny Omega (last week: 3)

Omega once again teamed with “Hangman” Page. Just a few minutes into the match, Omega went for the One-Winged Angel twice, but to no avail. After a series of chops with his partner, Omega went over the top rope to take out his opponents. Omega power bombed Fenix into Pentagon, followed by a pop-up powerbomb, which Penta kicked out of. Page was going for a lariat and hit Omega instead, which caused Omega to be pinned.

After the match was over, PAC got Omega’s attention when he appeared to attack Nakazawa. Omega went after them, with Page coming to assist his friend.

No. 7 — Adam “Hangman” Page (last week: 4)

Page and Omega were on the same page (no pun intended) this week and worked very well as a team. Page and Omega teamed up for knife-edge chops on Fenix. Page clotheslined both Lucha Bros. Page got a rush of adrenaline and was too excited when he mistakenly hit Omega with a lariat causing his partner to be pinned. He tried to make amends by helping Omega look for Nakazawa and PAC.
