DraftKings NBA Shooting Guards:

Best Bets:

James Harden ($11,000): That’s right…..Trae is more than Harden. Harden is capable of putting up huge numbers on any given night. His upside is higher than anyone else. However, if he only puts up 52 DraftKings points on the Kings again, it would be a disappointment. This is the type of night that if we don’t get 5x value from our stars, we’re in trouble. You can probably do better than Harden with your money, but the upside is still better than anyone else.

Brad Beal ($9,300): Now that Bertans joins the ranks of the walking wounded, Beal really is all the Wizards have. Beal has 117.25 DraftKings points in the last two games, and that was against two of the East’s elite in Philly and Toronto. Don’t be shocked if Beal outscores Harden. No, I’m not kidding.

Zach LaVine ($8,000): LaVine has at least 40 DraftKings points in five straight and six of the last eight games. His price still hasn’t really gone up. This isn’t a great matchup against the Magic, but LaVine’s ceiling is awfully high for the price range. If you are building a balanced lineup, LaVine could be a strong piece of it.

Honorable Mention:

Jrue Holiday ($7,800): Portland is weak against both guard positions. He put up 42.75 DraftKings points in the first meeting against the Blazers this year. Even though the Pelicans are mostly healthy now, Holiday has at least 40 DraftKings points in three of the last four games. I’m going to say it’s four of five by the end of this one.

D’Angelo Russell ($7,500): D-Russ had his best game of the season against Minnesota this year. He put up 82.5 DraftKings points and more than 50 actual points in that game. No one could stop him! Don’t be surprised if this game winds up similar. I’ll just say that Russell scores 30 instead of 60 this time. That should still put him around 50 DraftKings points.

CJ McCollum ($6,500): McCollum’s price remains comically low even though he has at least 42 DraftKings points in four straight games. This isn’t a fluke. This will keep going so long as Melo is out. This isn’t to say that Portland is better without Melo. I actually think they have done quite well with him. This is just saying that CJ personally is better off without him.

Dark Horses:

RJ Barrett ($5,500): Barrett has immense upside, but he is also one of the most inconsistent starters in recent memory. Barrett can put up 50 or 5. Worse than that, it’s rarely in between. It’s all or nothing. I would consider him here because the Washington defense was garbage when the team was at full strength. Now the Wizards only have ten healthy bodies and two of them were in the G-League two days ago. The Wizards are without Wall, Thomas, McRae, Bryant, Bertans, Rui, Wagner, and C.J. Miles. How can they compete?

Alec Burks ($5,300): Burks continues to light up the scoreboard because no one has stepped up to take his minutes. Burks has at least 30 DraftKings points in six of the last seven and seven of the last nine. He has kept up the production even with Russell back. I see no reason to shy away from Burks now.

Kevin Huerter ($5,100): That’s three straight strong performances out of Huerter. The minutes limit is a thing of the past and Huerter is back to putting up strong stat lines across all categories. The upside isn’t huge, but Huerter gets good minutes on a team that is wide open behind Young. He’s worth this price.
