DraftKings NBA Shooting Guards:

Best Bets:

James Harden ($11,600): Harden is the highest priced guy on the slate, and with good reason. He put up 74.5 DraftKings points on the Warriors the first time around. My fear with this game is a blowout, which would hurt Harden’s upside. I also don’t think the Warriors can really contain Westbrook either. This feels like a Harden game though, being it’s Christmas. The stars usually come out.

Honorable Mention:

D’Angelo Russell ($7,400): D-Russ has three strong games in a row now, and he is very reasonably priced against Houston. You can even cram him in with two stars if you work at it a little. If this game does stay close, Russell will be a big reason why. He should be a great play for the price.

Jrue Holiday ($7,200): This is actually a pretty low price for someone with the floor of Holiday. He has only been under 30 DraftKings points once this month. As good as Denver is, I’m not sure they hold him down that far. Holiday put up 41.25 DraftKings points on the Nuggets the first time around. Even with the Pelicans at full strength, Holiday still puts up strong numbers, especially at this price.

Dark Horses:

Lou Williams ($5,800): The matchup with the Lakers isn’t the best, but LouWill put 39.25 DraftKings points on them the first time around. Williams is cheap considering he has over 30 DraftKings points in four of the last five games. His slump appears to be over, so he’s a strong play with good upside even against the Lakers.

Alec Burks ($5,600): Burks continues to light up the scoreboard because no one has stepped up to take his minutes. Burks has at least 30 DraftKings points in seven of the last eight and eight of the last ten. He has kept up the production even with Russell back. I see no reason to shy away from Burks now, especially since he torched Houston for one of his best games of the season in the first meeting.

Gary Harris ($5,100): I was as surprised as you were when the Denver guards lit up the Lakers over the weekend. That wasn’t supposed to happen. I think that tells us more about the Denver guards than the Lakers though. The Lakers have made guard life difficult for nearly every other team. The price did jump on Harris, but his floor is still around 4.5x value.
