Duds

Lauri Markkanen (vs UTA – $6,500 on DK; $5,700 on FD): Markkanen has been solid but unspectacular as of late and now he enters to a very tough matchup. His price isn’t terrible as he’s on the lower end of the scale but there’s not much upside with him in this matchup and there is a good chance that he doesn’t even give you value. There are better option below him.

Kyle Lowry (at MIA – $8,200 on DK; $7,800 on FD): Lowry is unlikely to hurt you because he’s a steady option on most nights. It is a tough overall matchup, but with the injuries, Lowry has proven that he can carry the load. My issue with him is that I don’t think he’ll give you much more than value. There are guys with higher ceilings at a better price with better matchups that you should look towards.

Kawhi Leonard (vs DET – $9,500 on DK; $9,500 on FD): I will continue to preach not taking Kawhi unless there’s a matchup where he’s going to feel challenged. The Clippers are still coming together as a team and Kawhi is willing to sit back unless he needs to takeover. And he won’t need to takeover against the Pistons. That’s going to open up more opportunities for PG and Williams. The price is too high for him to coast in DFS terms.

Nikola Jokic (at IND – $9,100 on DK; $9,200 on FD): Jokic has not been good in recent outings and now he has a tough matchup against the Pacers. It’s tough to trust him, especially at this price. He’s been inconsistent all season and I see no reason to take him against such a tough matchup with the way he’s been playing. The ceiling is high, but there are no guarantees with him right now.

Terry Rozier (at CLE – $6,800 on DK; $6,200 on FD): Rozier has been disappointing in recent games and even though the matchup is a great one on Thursday, this feels more like a game where Graham has the big outing. He’s the better player of the two and Rozier has too many inconsistencies for my liking. Find value below him to fill out your squad.
