AEW Power Rankings: Week of January 1, 2020
Tag Team Division
No. 1 — SCU
SCU weren’t in action this week, but did have a backstage interview with Jenn Decker. They were interrupted by Sammy Guevara. Christopher Daniels challenged him to a match next week.
No. 2 — Young Bucks/The Elite
The Bucks teamed up with Kenny Omega against Lucha Bros. and PAC. The Bucks knows Lucha Bros. very well and the pairs engaged in their normal high-flying offense. Matt Jackson saved Omega from PAC’s Brutalizer, which set up Omega to get the win with a One-Winged Angel on Rey Fénix.
No. 3—Lucha Bros
The Lucha Bros. were joined by PAC against The Elite. After exchanging chops with Omega, Fénix was able to escape the One-Winged Angel. The brothers used their high octane moves against The Elite. Omega was able to finally get the One-Winged Angel on Fénix for the win.
No. 4 — Dark Order
Another vignette appeared with Evil Uno stating that The Elite have fallen. A recap of the Dark Order attacking The Elite on Dec. 18 episode of Dynamite was shown.
No. 5—Private Party
Private Party were in a bar with Decker. Adam “Hangman” Page walked behind the bar to fix a drink. When Private Party express concern for him, Page tells them he could beat them both and that they suck. The duo will take on Page and Omega next week.
No. 6—Jurassic Express
The trio were interviewed by Decker. Jungle Boy was happy that he went ten minutes with Jericho like he said he would, but he’s looking for more wins. Marko Stunt attempted to hug Decker, but was pulled back by Luchasaurus. Luchasaurus chastised Stunt for his behavior.
