8. Louisville

After a disastrous season in 2018, Louisville made the hire of Scott Satterfield from Appalachian State, and fans saw the immediate returns in year one. From 2-10 to 8-5, the Cardinals finished off their turnaround with a win over Mississippi State in the Music City Bowl.

Now, as they head into year two, Louisville will look to take the same steps Appalachian State took in year two under Satterfield and reach double-digit wins. With Clemson in the same division, it is hard to imagine them ever getting a conference title bid soon, but the second spot in the conference is up for grabs. We already talked about how North Carolina could take the step in the ACC, but Louisville is right there was well. They will return a good amount of talent in 2020, including most of their offensive weapons, and it’s two top tackles on defense.

We will see what this team is made of very early in the season when they head to South Bend to face Notre Dame in their third game of the season. An upset would set the tone for the 2020 and let the country know Louisville is on its way to becoming a solid top 25 squad once again.
