DraftKings EuroLeague Guards:

The numbers for Nick Calathes haven’t been all that consistent lately, but he’s the best player on the slate and has the best matchup. I don’t even think I would pass him up if Lorenzo Brown plays. Brown’s ankle is likely not 100%, so paying for Calathes seems like the way to go.

Jimmer Fredette is one of the best pure scorers in the EuroLeague, but that also makes him volatile. His ceiling is high, but the floor is all over the place. I like him in GPP’s, but Billy Baron is a far better cash play, and if Brown is out will be one of the best plays on the entire slate.

I do like Thomas Walkup with his expanded role, but I don’t know that I have enough confidence in him to throw him out there with reckless abandon in a bad matchup. Pierria Henry is a much better investment with a much better matchup.

I would expect the St. Petersburg guards to have to pick up some of the slack with Ayon out. It will also be easier since they don’t have to tangle with Vildoza. Austin Hollins is my favorite of the two, but Alex Renfroe probably has better upside.

This is a superb matchup for the Munich guards, but I don’t know that I trust any of them right now. Petteri Koponen has been the most consistent. Maodo Lo has nice upside. Still, if one of them are off, they will ruin your entire lineup. If Bray returns, it will make an already volatile unit much worse. Kevin Punter is much safer now that he’s with a Belgrade team that is actually going to play him. That makes him the safe value play.
