Duds

Nikola Vucevic (at MIA – $8,600 on DK; $8,300 on FD): There’s plenty of good value among the top guys, even if I didn’t list them earlier. Vucevic probably won’t hurt you and he did have a big game against Miami recently. But he has one of the tougher matchups among the high salary guys and the Magic are on a back to back. Vucevic wasn’t good against the Clippers, and while he could bounce back, there are more sure things below him.

DeMar DeRozan (at CHI – $8,200 on DK; $8,300 on FD): DeRozan’s might have a big game as a Kobe tribute of sorts. He may also sit out this game. Of all the guys playing on Monday, DeRozan is a guy who you can put some value to Kobe’s passing. And that’s what concerns me here. He probably shouldn’t be playing basketball at the moment.

Clint Capela (at UTA – $8,500 on DK; $8,000 on FD): No Harden or Westbrook is going to hurt Capela. Gordon doesn’t run the pick and roll quite as well and its a tough matchup for Capela against Gobert. And while he’s had past success against Gobert, the circumstances were much different. The circumstances are not good for him in this one.

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander (vs DAL – $7,300 on DK; $7,600 on FD): Shai is coming off a rough game against the Timberwolves of all teams and while it’s very possibly he can bounce back, this is a tough matchup. This also feels like more of a Chris Paul game given the circumstances and Dennis Schroder is playing very consistent basketball with his scoring. Don’t be surprised if Steven Adams gets more involved as well.

Kristaps Porzingis (at OKC – $7,600 on DK; $7,400 on FD): Porzingis has had some rough games since returning and now he takes on a Thunder team that is great against the position. Until he shows some type of consistency following the injury, stay away at this salary. He’ll find his groove soon enough but I don’t have any confidence in him at the moment.
