4. Ha Ha Clinton-Dix, FS

Former Green Bay Packers defensive back Damarious Randall was brought in by Dorsey prior to the 2018 season. In two seasons in Cleveland, he played in 26 games, intercepted four passes, racked up 117 combined tackles with 2.5 sacks.

Randall was a much more stable safety than cornerback, and this offseason he will field many suitors in free agency. Of course, the team can decide if they want to bring him back. However, they may go with another option with a new coaching staff.

Now another former Packer draft pick, Ha Ha Clinton-Dix, would not only be a viable Randall replacement, he’d be an upgrade.

Defensively, the Browns were good against the pass. They allowed the seventh-fewest passing yards (3,470) with 25 passing scores, which was the 18th-lowest total. They were within the top-10 in interceptions as well. Not bad, especially with a team that didn’t pressure the quarterback consistently.

They still need a true ball-hawk at safety and Clinton-Dix is that. He has 16 picks in 96 games, and he has had more than one interception in every season of his career besides his rookie campaign. Somehow, he always finds himself in position to make a play on the ball.

Clinton-Dix won’t make a lot of plays around the line of scrimmage or in the backfield, but he has tried to improve his tackling. Although, he does have 5.5 career sacks and he picked up three in 2015.

His value for the Browns would purely be as a center fielder, playing in a secondary with cornerbacks Denzel Ward and Greedy Williams.
