Cris Carter: New England is best place for Tom Brady to win another Super Bowl

Tom Brady may test the waters in his free agency, but Pro Football Hall of Famer Cris Carter thinks he needs to stay put with the New England Patriots.

Pro Football Hall of Famer Cris Carter hasn’t been on TV in a few months, but is still incredible as a sports analyst, telling us all how it is. In his conversation with FanSided‘s Mark Carman on behalf of Sleep Number, Carter doesn’t want to hear about Tom Brady leaving the New England Patriots as a free agent. He needs to stay right where he is and play for Bill Belichick.

“At this stage of the game, I’m not going to go learn a whole new system and try to depend on a whole bunch of new players, new coaches and things like that,” Carter said to Carman if he were in Brady’s shoes.

“They have a great system. Belichick does a great job. They need another wide receiver. They need to keep trying to fortify that offensive line. They need to do a better job of running the ball. Tom Brady should go back to New England because that’s the best chance for him to win a Super Bowl.”

Carter added the Patriots should return a top-five defense in the league. He also brought up how it might not be Brady’s decision anyway. Do you really think Gisele Bündchen will want to uproot their family and move to Los Angeles, Chicago or wherever? Me neither.

Another thing helping Brady’s case to return to New England is his offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels didn’t get one of the five available head coaching jobs. It will be the same offensive system Brady has had so much success in previously. If McDaniels were the new Cleveland Browns head coach, things would be different and Brady could walk much easier.

One thing that hurts Brady’s case to return is long-time Patriots offensive line coach Dante Scarnecchia retired for the second time in his coaching career earlier this week. Scarnecchia is widely regarded as one of the best offensive line coaches of all time. Having a strong front-five to keep Brady upright will be crucial if he does get to Super Bowl No. 10 in his illustrious career.
