NBA DFS: Studs, scrubs, and duds on DraftKings and FanDuel Feb. 6
Duds
James Harden (at LAL – $12,400 on DK; $11,500 on FD): If Westbrook doesn’t play, the ceiling is obviously high for Harden because of the offense he’s in. But this is about the salary he’s at. Is he worth more than Giannis or LeBron or even Westbrook if he plays? I have my doubts. He’ll most likely deliver, but there you can save money and get better value elsewhere.
Julius Randle (vs ORL – $8,300 on DK; $8,000 on FD): Randle might not recognize his teammates on Thursday and even if he does, it’s not likely his teammates are very good anyway. He’s been consistent but nothing past consistent and this isn’t the best of matchups with the Orlando defense.
Ben Simmons (at MIL – $8,100 on DK; $8,600 on FD): I don’t know what’s happening with the Sixers. By the time the games start, it’s very possible that the Sixers have blown everything up. It’s more likely that they try to work around the margins and hope things work. But the vibe is not good and Simmons can’t be trusted. Which means him and Embiid will come out aggressive in this game and dominate.
Tobias Harris (at MIL – $6,600 on DK; $6,200 on FD): Yes, two Sixers make the list. That’s how little faith I have in them right now. Things just aren’t good around the team and there’s no reason think they’ll be improved unless this some trade that I can’t predict as of this writing. Stay away from the Sixers in this matchup.
Marcus Morris (vs ORL – $6,400 on DK; $6,200 on FD): This is an easy stay away because I’m fairly certain he won’t be on the team by the time the games start. But right now, as of this write, he’s on the team, so I can include him. If he’s still in New York, he’s a fine take because he is a consistent player. But who knows what his mentality will be if he’s not traded.
