player. 50. . Defensive Tackle. Detroit Lions. Derrick Brown. 3

The Detroit Lions hold the No. 3 overall pick in the draft, and they could go a number of different ways with the pick. Teams are going to be clamoring to move up in round one, and holding this pick, along with the fact they have a starting quarterback in Matthew Stafford, they should listen to every offer.

If the Lions do hold on to the selection, they should look to bring in the best defensive tackle in this draft class in Derrick Brown. The big fella from Auburn is one of those rare talents that can not only do damage against the run, but can get into the backfield and cause havoc from his inside position.

Head coach Matt Patricia knows he has to revamp this defense in 2020, as another bad season for the Lions could spell the end of his run with the team. He is widely considered a defensive genius, and adding a player like Brown would significantly improve a team that needs to be better up front this season.

. Safety/LB. New York Giants. Isaiah Simmons. 4. player. 31

The New York Giants found their quarterback with the No. 6 overall pick last year, bringing in Daniel Jones from Duke with a pretty shocking selection. In his rookie season, Jones proved he has the talent to be a legitimate starting quarterback at the NFL level, but this Giants team has a long way to go on the other side of the ball.

When it comes to this draft class, there are very few players that should have the kind of impact at the next level than Isaiah Simmons from Clemson will. He has the ability to play safety or outside linebacker in the NFL, and bring to the Giants the kind of versatility that the Los Angeles Chargers get from Derwin James.

The bottom line is that this Giants defense was downright atrocious last season, and they need to get the best available defensive player with the No. 4 overall pick. Jones is going to be fine, and they have a star at running back, now they must shift their focus to  the defense and bolstering the offensive line in 2020.
