4. James Bradberry (Carolina Panthers)

He’s been a pretty solid performer for the Carolina Panthers since he joined the club. And cornerback James Bradberry has been a bright spot on a defense that has fallen off the past few years from its recent predecessors.

A second-round pick in 2016 from Samford, the unsung performer has been a double-digit starter in each of his four seasons and was in the opening lineup in every game in 2017 (the team’s last playoff appearance) and ’18. In a total of 60 regular-season outings, he has picked off opposing passers eight times and been credited with 47 passes defensed – 10 or more PDs in each of his four seasons.

While you get more-than-adequate coverage skills from Bradberry, his play against the run is substandard. It’s one of the reasons you will find him further down the list on Pro Football Focus’ cornerback list (subscription required) despite some of his impressive numbers. So it in certainly buyer beware when it comes to what a team may be looking for from the position. Still, there are plenty of positives when it comes to the 26-year-old performer and he would be a welcome addition for a team looking to get better against the pass.

Meanwhile, it will be very interesting to see where his future lies as the Panthers are now under the guidance of new head coach Matt Rhule and defensive coordinator Phil Snow. Will there be massive personnel changes as the club embarks on a new era?
