15. player. 842. . DE. Tigers . Dylan Brooks

  • High School: Handley (Roanoke, AL)
  • Composite Rankings: No. 15, No. 1 WDE

When it comes to a five-star recruit from the state of Alabama, you can bet that Auburn and Alabama are going to battle it out on the recruiting trail. Roanoke’s Dylan Brooks is one of the top defensive end recruits in the 2021 class.

The 6-foot-5 defensive end is a lanky athlete with the ability to pack on size as he continues to mature at the next level. He’s got tremendous burst that makes it difficult for offensive tackles to keep up with him.

Brooks has finished 16 sacks over his last two high school football seasons and the race between the two rivals is on for him. LSU and Tennessee are also hoping they could sway Brooks to come to their program as are many others. The experts think Auburn is the place he’ll end up right now, but there’s plenty of time for things to change.

Prediction: Auburn

14. player. 840. . OLB. Gators . Terrence Lewis

  • High School: Chaminade-Madonna Prep (Hollywood, FL)
  • Composite Rankings: No. 14, No. 1 OLB

Terrence Lewis is a tackling machine. The Florida product has made a name for himself and earned his five-star recruit status because of his ability to wrap up the ball carrier and process plays at an elite level.

From an instincts standpoint, he is able to dissect players before they happen and that allows him to greatly impact what the offense is trying to do. Having a player that knows where the ball is going is a big advantage at the college level.

Lewis will continue to see his game develop as he adds a little size and gets better in coverage. There isn’t a clear consensus right now as to where Lewis could end up, but some feel the Gators have a great shot.

Prediction: Florida

player. 806. . OT. Nittany Lions . Nolan Rucci. 13

  • High School: Warwick (Lititz, PA)
  • Composite Rankings: No. 13, No. 3 OT

The top recruit from the state of Pennsylvania is offensive tackle Nolan Rucci. His father, Todd, played in the NFL and also for Penn State at the college level. Rucci is a behemoth of an individual that has plenty of room to pack on size to his 6-foot-8 frame.

He moves well given his frame and isn’t a statue. As he continues to add more weight to his large frame, he will further mature into a bookend protecting the blind side at the next level. Rucci should be heading to play for Penn State like his father.

There is a wrinkle, given his brother joined Wisconsin in 2019. Some of the other recruits in this class with parents that played at a program have already given their commitment. Rucci hasn’t given his yet to Penn State, but the best bet is him joining the program.

Prediction: Penn State

QB. Huskies . Sam Huard. 12. player. 818.

  • High School: Kennedy Catholic ( Burien, WA)
  • Composite Rankings: No. 12, No. 1 PRO QB

Another Huard is coming to Washington. After his father, Damon, and his uncle, Brock, both played under center for the Huskies, Sam Huard should be the next in the family to get his turn to play in Seattle.

The top-ranked Pro-style quarterback has already committed to Washington, which shouldn’t come as much of a surprise to anyone. He’s a smart quarterback that can make all the throws necessary.

He has a beautiful touch to the way he throws the football and it will look good watching highlights years down the road. Playing for the Huskies is a pipeline thing for the Huard family and Sam carries more than just the name. He has the talent to back it up as well.

Committed to Washington

Tigers . Caleb Williams. 11. player. 817. . DUAL QB

  • High School: Gonzaga (Washington, D.C.)
  • Composite Rankings: No. 11, No. 2 DUAL QB

The second-ranked dual-threat quarterback in the nation has yet to make a commitment. Caleb Williams is a Washington, D.C. product with tremendous speed, athleticism and a dynamic arm to follow him.

His arm is a cannon that allows him to move the ball to any point on the field. His accuracy needs work, but he has the tools necessary to be a great college quarterback and probably more with the right coaching.

There isn’t a clear consensus about where he’ll end up, but 247’s lead LSU expert thinks the Tigers will be the landing spot for Williams. After the success they had developing Joe Burrow into a soon-to-be No. 1 pick, quarterbacks should soon flood Baton Rouge like they haven’t before.

Prediction: LSU
