DraftKings PGA – 2020 Arnold Palmer Invitational Picks

11,800 Rory McIlroy

Tiger was my pick, but with him out I will pivot to the best golfer in the world. McIlroy loves the course and his play has been incredible for almost 2 years now. Since his win at the 2018 Arnold Palmer Invitational, Rory has 25 top-10 finishes in 36 events. That is incredible. McIlroy is undoubtedly the best golfer in the world, and he seems to love this track. He has finishes of T11, T27, T4, 1st and T6 since 2015. That is elite course history. What is not to love about his game? He is accurate off the tee, strikes his irons, his short game is superb, and he is a plus putter. His putting let him down on Poa, now he returns to his preferred putting surface, Bermudagrass. Play Rory with confidence.

8,000 Billy Horschel

The Florida native played solid golf through the Cali swing, a place that he usually cannot tame. I think that means he is in form. He faded Sunday at the Honda Classic, but was playing solid golf all week despite difficult conditions. Horschel is back in his familiar Bermuda grass, and this is a track that he knows extremely well. Billy Ho has never missed a cut at the Arnold Palmer Invitational. He is a perfect 7 for 7, with 2 top-20 finishes. Horshel is a streaky golfer and plays better in the comfort of the Southeast. I will ride with Billy Ho’s solid form.

8,700 Byeong Hun An

Bennie An is one of my favorite DFS golfers! He struck the ball beautifully at the Honda Classic last week, but his putter failed him. Byeong Hun is known as a poor putter, but I expect his putting to regress towards his norm on bermudagrass. An ranks top-10 in my model in Approach Gained, Tee-to-Green Gained, and Scrambling Gained.
