3. Justin Jefferson, LSU receiver

Jefferson is arguably the most underrated receiver in this draft. He doesn’t boast the speed that a player like Hamler could bring to the Vikings offense, but his combination of polish and burst could make him a star at the next level.

Minnesota could potentially use Jefferson in the slot and out wide on the boundary in 2020. That versatility is going to make him a very attractive draft commodity late in the first round. The Vikings might need to swing a deal to move up a spot or two if they really zero in on him as the guy they must have.

It’s easy to envision a scenario where the Vikings make that decision. Joe Burrow had a historic season last year at LSU, but Jefferson was a big reason he was so successful. SEC opponents put their best corners on Jefferson every week and he managed to torch them.

Jefferson is a classic example of a player who should be evaluated on his tape rather than just his athletic testing. The Vikings’ front office is smart enough to understand that. If Jefferson is still on the board at No. 25 they should jump at the chance to draft him.
