One of the most creative players in this year’s class, Cole Perfetti of the Saginaw Spirit is widely expected to serve as a top-10 selection when draft day comes around.
The 18-year-old center has absolutely commanded the OHL of late, scoring important goals and fooling opponents by frequently making high-end plays.
Perfetti is undoubtedly a very good shooter, but his passing ability may be reflective of elite capacities — a skill that should almost definitely lend further reward to the way in which the forward is perceived in NHL circles.
In a recent interview, Perfetti zeroed in on his on-ice smarts as his ultimate selling feature. Per Mark Scheig, Perfetti stated: “My hockey IQ is my strongest aspect. I think that’s what separates me from the rest of the group in this draft class.”
Expect teams working toward adding particularly dynamic game-changers to their rosters to be all in on Perfetti.
