Fourth Round

Purdue Boilermakers. 116. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. player. 848. TE. Brycen Hopkins

With the Jaguars’ first of three fourth-round picks in the 2020 NFL Draft, they will be able to satisfy their last primary draft need at the tight end position. With the No. 116 overall pick, look for them to take someone like Brycen Hopkins out of Purdue University with this selection.

Hopkins is 6-foot-5 and 245 pounds. As a fifth-year senior, Hopkins was a great red-zone target for the Boilermakers. He had seven of his 61 catches last year went for touchdowns, as he had 830 receiving yards in only 11 games for Purdue. Minshew, or maybe even Eason, will love throwing the ball to him at the back of the end zone for hopefully six points.

Scouting Report. LB. Oregon Ducks. 137. 820. Pick Analysis. Troy Dye. player

Adding a proven veteran line Joe Schobert in free agency to essentially be the Jaguars’ 2020s version of Paul Posluszny makes a ton of sense. However, Schobert will need some help in the middle of this Jaguars linebacking corps. Look for the Jaguars to draft a player like Troy Dye out of the University of Oregon with the No. 137 pick in the fourth round.

Dye is a big body at 6-foot-4 and 226 pounds. He played in a ton of big games during his time up in Eugene. He had 391 total tackles, 41.5 going for a loss of yardage and 13 sacks playing for the Ducks. This guy also forced nine turnovers during his time in college. His playmaking ability should translate to the NFL level.

C. Keith Ismael. 140. player. 901. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. San Diego State Aztecs

Linder may have been the current Jaguars’ version of Brad Meester before him, but you can never have enough offensive linemen for an offensive-minded head coach like Marrone to work with. Having a strong offensive interior will go a long way in helping Minshew progress, as well as open up running lanes for Leonard Fournette to explode through, even if he’s still on the team.

With the Jaguars’ third pick of the fourth round, they might end up taking a player like San Diego Aztecs center Keith Ismael. Even though he won’t be a late day-two pick, Ismael will have too much value to stay on the board for very long in day three. If he can play some guard to help get some playing time, this may not be a bad selection for Jacksonville to make here.
