Miami Dolphins 2020 mock draft: Full 7 rounds
By Conor Dorney
Adding Shaq Lawson and Emmanuel Ogbah via free agency allows Miami to have some patience developing their choice of edge rusher and in this spot, they go with talented former Badger Zack Baun.
Baun has a nonstop motor and is a better athlete than most give him credit for. He displayed a lot of versatility over the course of his college career, with plenty of reps rushing the passer and dropping into coverage. That versatility should serve him well as the Miami coaching staff figures out what his best role will be at the pro level.
It will be fascinating to see which receivers from this historically deep class fall into the second round but Clemson’s Tee Higgins could very well be one of them.
Higgins has ideal size (6-foot-4, 215 pounds) for an outside receiver and had some dominant performances for the Tigers over the last few seasons. His excellent length makes him a tough cover for press corners and Higgins is particularly good at high-pointing the ball with his outstanding catch radius.
Higgins didn’t participate in drills at the Combine but was a standout at Clemson Pro Day, one of the last to take place before the impact of COVID-19 around the world. The Dolphins are pretty plugged into the Clemson program and he would be a fantastic addition to the Miami offense in the second round.
