10. Georgia

Sanford Stadium in Athens, Georgia just misses out on being in that exclusive group of schools with a capacity over 100,000 as they sit at 92,746, the No. 9 biggest stadium in college football.

It’s definitely an atmosphere that is awe-striking on TV, most notably last season when they took on Notre Dame inside the confines of their own stadium. Not only was it a great game ending in a 23-17 victory for the Bulldogs, but it was in front of a rowdy crowd filled to capacity.

In the past ten years, Georgia has gone 56-9 in front of its home fans, winning 86.1 percent of those games. That is no small feat in the SEC which has undoubtedly been the best conference in college football in the last decade, and it continued to get better as the decade moved on.

While the atmosphere in Athens has always been great on Saturdays, it has recently gotten a boost with Kirby Smart bringing the program to another level. Since smart arrived on campus, the Bulldogs are 44-12 and have made the college football playoff national championship losing in overtime to Alabama. In Smart’s four years with the program, the Bulldogs are 22-4 at home with a lengthy home winning steak coming to an end thanks to an upset loss to South Carolina last season.

The excitement around the program thanks to Smart’s success has given the Bulldogs enough to be included on this list and with the Georgia program not likely to slow down anytime soon, it should only climb.
