Power ranking the Bulls’ interesting candidates for top executive position
5. Spencer Dinwiddie
Is it bad that a current NBA player is the fifth-best option on the list? Probably, but we have to admit, the plan Spencer Dinwiddie outlined on Twitter for fixing the Bulls wasn’t half-bad.
According the former Bull, if he were given the lead executive position he’s openly campaigning for, he’d:
- Trade Bulls point guard Tomas Satoransky for Dinwiddie (but with a pick attached, because “Dinwiddie gets buckets”)
- Sign with Rich Paul and Klutch Sports in a bid to lure Chicago native Anthony Davis back to the Windy City
- Sign-and-trade for AD, using Wendell Carter Jr., Thaddeus Young, Cristiano Felicio and a first-round draft pick
- Add veterans like Jared Dudley to round out the bench
- Free up money for a Maurice Harkless/Robert Covington type by dumping Ryan Arcidiacono and Luke Kornet with a sweetener of some kind
- Add a 3-and-D kind of vet like Terrence Ross or Marcus Morris, who will hopefully take a discount to win a title
- Use the Bulls’ loterry pick on a 3-and-D kind of wing who can possibly guard PGs before trading wing Otto Porter Jr. for Andre Drummond
Okay, so it’s highly unlikely the Bulls would even get past step 2 or 3 of the plan, but we have to admit, we’re intrigued by the idea of a Chicago roster that has Dinwiddie, Zach LaVine, Mook, AD, Drummond, Coby White, Lauri Markkanen and Harkless.
“Unrealistic,” “outlandish,” yeah, yeah, yeah. Whatever. Just hire him, Bulls.
