Jacksonville Jaguars 2020 mock draft: Full 7 rounds
By Conor Dorney
Tyler Eifert was a solid low risk, high reward addition in free agency but he also has played a full season just once in his seven-year career. With the first of their three fourth-round selections, the Jags add depth at the position with in-state product Harrison Bryant.
Bryant posted over 1,000 receiving yards for the Owls in 2019 that included seven touchdowns on 65 receptions. His plus athleticism and in-line blocking ability make him one of the best tight end prospects in an overall weaker class. I could see him going one round earlier than this but definitely expect him to be high on the Jags’ list of targets at the position.
Center Brandon Linder may be signed through the 2022 season but the Jags have reportedly explored the option of trading him as they continue their rebuild.
If they were to pull the trigger on a deal for Linder, Washington’s Nick Harris would be more than capable of slotting in to replace him. Harris is undersized but plays with great intensity and athleticism. His lack of length may push him down some draft boards but he’s a solid option for depth in round four with the potential to be a serviceable starter.
Freakish athletes are the theme for Jacksonville in this class and no receiver exemplifies that description better than Michigan’s Donovan Peoples-Jones.
DPJ had a Combine for the ages and has major upside despite underwhelming production in his time with the Wolverines. This pick is betting on your coaching staff to find him the right fit in your offense and if you do, he could be one of the steals of the fourth round.
