3rd Round

player. OT. UConn. Matt Peart. 103. 892. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis

The Eagles could use offensive tackle help after they let Jason Peters walk. Andre Dillard should step in his place, after the Eagles used a first-round pick on him last season, but they can’t go all in on that plan without at least a contingency, and that’s exactly what Matt Peart can be.

He’s coming into the draft with all the pieces to make a really good tackle, but playing for UConn in the AAC, he didn’t get the experience some of the top tackles in the country got. He didn’t have to go up against the best pass-rushers of the year. Still, his size and strength is something that can’t be ignored.

Peart stands 6-foot-7, and has played both left tackle and right tackle in college, playing all four years for the Huskies. He’s not the perfect player, thus why a player of this size ended up playing at UConn and is falling to the third round. Still, there are aspects to his game that have the foundation of a really good player. With a really good offensive line around him, Peart could be in the best possible situation for success.

Peart is the perfect depth tackle, a position that will be important for the Eagles after they saw just how much injuries impacted them last season.
