3. Tight end

Here’s a prime example of why it is important to find starters in every round, and also how well the Cowboys have drafted. For the greater part of 16 years, the team had the luxury of not worrying too much about the tight end position.

In 2003, Jason Witten was selected in the third round of the draft. He was the go-to target for Tony Romo and Dak Prescott, compiling 12,977 receiving yards, 72 touchdowns and 11 Pro Bowl nods.

Witten has since signed to play for the Raiders. Now, it is time for the team to draft another tight end for the franchise quarterback.

Yes, Blake Jarwin has been a solid option, and he just signed a contract extension. But, finding another pass catching target at tight end would add another weapon to an already dynamic offense.

Jarwin can become a good tight end but drafting a true pass-catcher at this position would give Prescott a lot of targets to work with in 2020.
