4. EDGE

Last season, Robert Quinn was brought in on a low-risk, high-reward signing. Once he finished his early-season suspension, he was slated to be one of the team’s top edge rushers.

Quinn was superb for the Cowboys. In 14 games, he rattled off 11.5 sacks. Then, he left this offseason and signed a large contract with the Chicago Bears.

The depth at defensive end is poor. Outside of Tyrone Crawford and Pro Bowl end DeMarcus Lawrence, there is a steep drop off.

Jones went and spent to help sure up the interior part of the line this offseason. He brought in two defensive tackles in Dontari Poe and Gerald McCoy to help prevent the run, generate pressure from the inside and free up edge rushers.

Now, it is time to target some edge rush talent in the draft.

Drafting a true edge rusher is a necessity for the Cowboys. Not only to generate pressure and heat up the pocket for opposing quarterbacks, but to also help free up Lawrence.
