4. Jason Witten will retire (again)

It’s going to be really strange to see Witten play for a team other than the Cowboys. Fortunately, fans in Dallas won’t have to see him play for the Raiders very often.

The prediction here is that Witten will retire before the end of the 2020 regular season. The chances of him really helping the Raiders win games are pretty remote. He lacks the athleticism to give Las Vegas a meaningful boost in the passing game.

That means Witten will serve as a big-name blocker when he does manage to make it on the field. His body isn’t going to hold up to that kind of pounding for an extended run of games. This has all the makings of a sad ending to a distinguished career for the former Tennessee star.

The good news is that this retirement will actually be Witten’s last. He’ll be back in the broadcast booth by the time the playoffs begin. Whether or not that’s actually good news for fans is a matter of personal preference.
