iRacing Pro Invitational Series: Geico 70 at Talladega FanDuel picks
By Hans Geevers
This Sunday, eNascar presents the FanDuel/DFS community with the Geico 70 at Talladega! Let’s take a look at this virtual racing event from a fantasy perspective!
Before I dive into my driver selections I wanted to clearly indicate that I am not providing a specific FanDuel lineup for this week’s virtual racing event. However, I am providing multiple driver options in an effort to assist the reader in generating a unique lineup that will hopefully have the potential to win a FanDuel GPP (Guaranteed Prize Pool) tournament!
Here are my driver selections for the Geico 70 at Talledega iRacing event.
William Byron $16,000
Yes, I know that William Byron arrives on this slate a the rather high cost of $16,000. However, I just can’t fade Byron. Why? Well, the odds of him winning are extremely high. In my opinion, you have to find a way to get him in your FanDuel lineup if you hope to win any FanDuel contests for this event.
Byron has been absolutely dominant in the four virtual races that have occurred on the iRacing Pro Invitational Series this season. Let me be more specific. Though four races this season, William Byron has won two events, including last week’s Toyota Owners 150. It should also be noted that he led a total of 94 laps in last week’s victory.
Timmy Hill $13,500
If you wanted to pivot away from William Byron, I would strongly recommend starting your FanDuel lineups with Timmy Hill. Hill has also had an outstanding start to his iRacing Pro Invitational Series season. Hill has an impressive four top three finishes this season, including a win at the Texas Pro Invitational last month.
Parker Kligerman $9,200
Parker Kligerman has been one of the most consistent drivers on the virtual iRacing Pro Invitational Series this season. Through four races this year, he has four top 13 finishes, including a seventh place result at the Bristol Pro Invitational two weeks ago.
Kyle Busch $8,600
In my opinion, Kyle Busch arrives on this FanDuel slate under priced ($8,600). Let me provide some clear data to back up my opinion. The Action Network currently lists Busch at odds of +1000. The Action Network further notes that only two other drivers have lower odds (Byron, Hill) than Busch to win this week’s race. Having stated that, FanDuel has Kyle Busch listed as the 11th highest priced driver on the slate. That my friends spells opportunity to the DFS community! Busch will certainly be in the majority of my DFS lineups. I should also note that Busch finished fifth in last week’s Toyota Owners 150.
Erik Jones $5,500
Jones is another driver on the slate that appears to not be priced correctly. Jones has competed in all four races on the iRacing Pro Invitational Series schedule this year. In those four races, Jones has two top ten finishes, including a seventh place result at last week’s Toyota Owners 150. In my opinion, Jones presents outstanding value at a FanDuel price of only $5,500.
As always, good luck!
