Pick Analysis. WR. Penn State. player. Scouting Report. K.J. Hamler. 46. 806

In two years with Penn State, Hamler proved why he was worthy of a top-50 selection.

The speedster caught 98 passes for 1,658 yards over that span at Happy Valley, helping the Nittany Lions become one of the national contenders. Although he has a tiny frame at 5-foot-9 and 178 pounds, Hamler shows toughness and should be a quality slot receiver for Denver, playing with Jerry Jeudy and Courtland Sutton on the outside.

It’s clear general manager John Elway wants to build up the offense around quarterback Drew Lock. Denver has done a nice job, giving Lock three young, promising receivers alongside second-year tight end Noah Fant and third-year running back Phillip Lindsay. Factor in free-agent addition running back Melvin Gordon, and the group is brimming with talent.

With the NFL moving almost completely towards 11 personnel (three receivers, tight end, running back), having three quality pass-catchers is a must. If Hamler fulfills his potential in the Mile High City, the Broncos have exactly that entering 2020.
