Louisiana Tech. player. 2119. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. CB. L'Jarius Sneed. 138

Sneed comes to the Chiefs after struggling at safety in 2019 with the Bulldogs. However, he played solid ball the year prior in ’18 at cornerback, giving Kansas City a reason to make this move. Sneed ran a 4.37 40-yard dash at the Scouting Combine, showcasing an elite blend of size (6-foot, 192 pounds) and speed.

Sneed projects as a special teams player in his early days before eventually seeing some defensive snaps. The Chiefs don’t need to rush him into the lineup with Bashaud Breeland, Rashad Fenton and Charvarius Ward starting at corner. Still, if any of them succumb to injury, Sneed could be the next man up.

5th Round

177. player. 811. EDGE. Michigan. Michael Danna. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis

The Chiefs decided to add to their front seven, pulling Danna into the fold at No. 177 overall. Some thought Kansas City would add a receiver considering both Sammy Watkins and Demarcus Robinson are free agents after this season. However, Veach decided to continue with a trend of defense, something Kansas City addressed with three of its final four picks.

Considering defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo likes to deploy pressure from all over the formation, perhaps the Chiefs see Danna as a roaming pass-rusher. At 6-foot-2 and 261 pounds, Danna projects to be a stand-up edge rusher, but there’s a long way to go before he stands to see the field.

7th Round

Scouting Report. CB. Tulane. Bopete Keyes. 237. player. 2115. Pick Analysis

The Chiefs traded back into the draft for another corner, their second of Day 3. Keyes comes to Kansas City as a 6-foot-1, 202-pound defender who was projected to be an undrafted free agent by NFL.com’s Lance Zierlein. As a senior with Tulane, Keyes totaled one interception and five pass breakups.
