Best Pick: Lucas Niang, OT, TCU

While Edwards-Helaire could have easily gotten this spot, Niang slides in because of his versatility, and the importance of keeping Patrick Mahomes upright. In his conference call with reporters on Friday night, Veach stressed Niang’s ability to immediately compete at guard while eventually becoming a tackle.

Having not allowed a sack during his three years with the Horned Frogs, this is a good value with serious upside in Kansas City.

Worst Pick: Michael Danna, EDGE, Michigan

Danna is a bit of a perplexing pick. The measurables aren’t suggestive of a kid with his best football ahead of him, and the Chiefs don’t need edge help. Kansas City already has Frank Clark, Tanoh Kpassagnon and Alex Okafor at end, with third-year man Breeland Speaks still trying to carve out a role.

At Michigan, Danna recorded 38 tackles and three sacks in his only year with the Wolverines. Before that, the youngster played with Central Michigan, where he earned First-Team All-MAC honors in 2018.
