Best Pick: Kenneth Murray, ILB, Oklahoma

This is a fantastic choice. The Chargers have long needed someone who can deal with tight ends and running back in the passing game, and now they finally have him. Murray is one of the best athletes in the draft — regardless of position — and now brings his elite traits to an already loaded Los Angeles defense.

Yes, Chargers general manager Tom Telesco paid a steep price (second and third-round choices) to go up and snag Murray at No. 23 overall, but the talent is worth the pair of picks.

Worst PickJauan Jennings, WR, Tennessee

The Chargers already have a terrific group of receivers, headlined by Mike Williams and Keenan Allen. They don’t need to be taking risks on a kid who can’t seem to stay away from trouble. Yet, Telesco decided to do exactly that, nabbing Jennings in the seventh round.

One could certainly argue his value was right at this point. If he causes any problems, the Chargers can simply move on and give their attention to someone deserving of it. However, the pick used on Jennings could have gone elsewhere, maybe even a flier on either an offensive or defensive tackle.

Grade: B-
