Cincinnati Bengals

Mike Brown and Zac Taylor had the pleasure of selecting the draft’s best player, Joe Burrow. Throughout the pre-draft process, it was well known that Burrow would be the first-overall pick.

Burrow can be a franchise-altering pick if the team surrounds him with talent. That is exactly what Brown and Taylor did in Round 2.

Tee Higgins out of Clemson was the first pick announced in the second round. This pick gives Burrow a solid group of receivers to work with this season.

Brown also addressed the defensive side of the ball early on with linebacker Logan Wilson at pick 65.

Dallas Cowboys

Shots of Jerry Jones sitting in a room on his yacht was one of the more popular talking points. No matter where he was sitting, the Cowboys added a lot of talent in the early rounds of the draft.

In Round 1, Oklahoma star receiver CeeDee Lamb slipped, and Jones jumped on him. At the time, this pick appeared to address a want over a need. Until the second round.

The Cowboys needed secondary help. Byron Jones left in free agency, and the safety position has needed an upgrade for a while. Therefore, Trevon Diggs out of Alabama was taken as the Jones replacement at corner.

Later in the third, Oklahoma defensive tackle, Neville Gallimore was selected. He will fortify a suddenly loaded defensive line. Jones also got a great value pick with edge Bradlee Anae with the last pick in the fifth.
