2021 NFL mock draft: Jacksonville Jaguars land Trevor Lawrence
By Brad Weiss
The Green Bay Packers needed to add talent at the wide receiver group during this year’s draft, but instead, they decided to select players outside the spot. Green Bay made eight selections in total in 2020, and not a single one was spent on getting Aaron Rodgers help at wide receiver, although they did bring in a backup quarterback for him.
They won’t make the mistake again in 2021, as Matt LaFleur has said he expects Rodgers to be around for a long time, and getting him help has to be priority No. 1. Rondale Moore from Purdue had over 1,200 yards and 12 touchdowns as a freshman two years ago for the Boilermakers, and after missing time last season due to injury, he will return in a big way as one of the top wideouts in the Big Ten in 2021.
The Pittsburgh Steelers will have a healthy Ben Roethlisberger back for the 2020 NFL season, and that is great news for a franchise that found themselves on the outside looking in at the playoffs last season. With Big Ben back under center, the Steelers will likely go back to being one of the top teams in the AFC, and the sportsbooks expect them to be one of the last teams standing.
While Big Ben has more left in the tank, the question has to be how much more does he have, and the Steelers plan for the future by selecting Georgia quarterback Jamie Newman here. Newman had a breakout season at Georgia Tech last year, throwing for 26 touchdowns against 11 interceptions, and you can expect even better numbers with the Bulldogs in 2020.
