3. Jared Goff will cut his interceptions in half

Goff took a massive step back in 2019. The Rams cannot afford for him to throw 16 interceptions again this year. McVay and his staff are going to work hard to simplify the game for the former Cal star.

That means less throws down the field for Goff in 2020. The only times he’s really going to push the ball deep will be via play action. Otherwise, look for a lot of short and safe throws to keep this offense moving on time.

That might reduce his total yards for the season and it will certainly decrease his yards per attempt. Goff is going to be labeled as a game manager by his critics. The upshot for the Rams is that he will stop turning the ball over.

Look for his total to be cut in half. McVay is keenly aware of his need to manage Goff’s confidence this season. He’s going to drop the degree of difficulty for his young signal caller. Eight interceptions will be a sign of solid progress for Goff this year.
