2. L.J. Collier will lead the team in sacks

Collier was a massive flop for the Seahawks in his rookie season. Despite that fact, he still projects to be a starter in his second season. It’s imperative that he take a massive leap forward in his sophomore campaign.

Collier is never going to be a speed demon off the edge, but he has the power and persistence to develop into a quality sack artist in the NFL. The lack of elite athleticism makes him a good bet to bounce back from his horrible rookie campaign. It just takes longer for players who rely on skill to adjust to the rigors of the NFL.

It’s important to note that no one on the roster got more than four sacks last season. The projection here doesn’t require Collier to suddenly develop into a double-digit sack artist. Finishing somewhere between six and eight sacks should be enough to lead the team.

Collier isn’t going to solve the team’s pass rushing issues, but he will develop into a solid, if unspectacular starter in 2020. That will help the Seahawks’ front office feel a lot better about his draft position.
