4. Tampa Bay Buccaneers

While his experience with Bruce Arians makes Blaine Gabbert the ideal backup for Tom Brady this year in Tampa Bay, that won’t necessarily be the case looking to 2021. The Buccaneers will surely have some eye on getting Brady’s successor in the 2021 draft, but they will also presumably be looking for a veteran backup. If Gabbert were to be injured in the preseason again, as he was last year, Tampa Bay is not going to rely on only Ryan Griffin behind Brady.

Trubisky’s check-down ways aren’t a fit for the “no risk it, no biscuit” downfield offense Arians favors, but on the flip side the veteran head coach has also said “you can’t go broke taking a profit” as an ode to willingly taking shorter passes if they’re there. Brady has made his living picking apart defenses in the short and intermediate areas of the field, so Tampa Bay’s offense will move toward that some this year.

Working under Arians and learning from Brady would help any quarterback who is trying to establish himself or get his career on the right track. Trubisky will clearly fit that latter bill, and Tampa Bay will be a potential landing spot for him.
