3. Kansas City Chiefs

Matt Nagy was offensive coordinator under Andy Reid in Kansas City for two seasons (2016-17) prior to becoming Bears’ head coach. He was also Chiefs’ quarterbacks coach for two years before that, and his entire career as an assistant was under Reid going back to Philadelphia. So moving to the top of that coaching tree, with a similar offensive system, would seem possible as a pretty seamless transition for Trubisky.

Patrick Mahomes is obviously not going anywhere as the starter in Kansas City, but they also seem sure to take a year-by-year approach with the rest of the quarterback depth chart. The flier they’ve taken on undrafted free agent Shea Patterson is evidence of that ongoing depth chart churn, as the Chiefs will plumb some depths to find moldable quarterbacks if they have to.

Unless he beats out Foles or replaces him at some point during the coming season, and plays well of course, Trubisky stands to benefit from taking a step back when he leaves the Bears. Kansas City is as good a spot as any to do that, while getting tutelage from an offensive master like Reid and being in the same quarterback room as a singular talent like Mahomes.
