BYE WEEK: Panthers, Buccaneers

Game of the Week: Buffalo Bills at San Francisco 49ers

Possible Super bowl matchup? That might be getting ahead of ourselves, but the Bills stand to be one of the best AFC teams while the 49ers were seven minutes away from hoisting the Lombardi Trophy a year ago.

This should be an old-fashioned game. Both teams have great defenses and quarterbacks better suited to manage the game than outright win it. Josh Allen and Jimmy Garoppolo will both be forced to make throws into tight windows, with Tre’Davious White and Richard Sherman providing blanket coverage on either side.

While this affair won’t have much value for tiebreakers, it should be a nice measuring stick, especially for Buffalo. The Bills get the NFC champs on the road. It’s a cross-country trip. If Allen and Co. can win this one, it serves notice to the rest of the league.
