Weeks 1-4

23. 55. 14. 31. Prediction

Without Ben Roethlisberger for essentially the entire season last year, Mike Tomlin asked his defense to be elite. They were. Forcing the most turnovers (38) and racking up the highest sack total (54), the team’s defense kept them alive. Although they missed the playoffs with an 8-8 record, Tomlin still got them that far with backup quarterbacks. Now, Roethlisberger will be back, and that defense still has key players in place. T.J. Watt and Bud Dupree firing of the edges, and Cameron Heyward inside, will make plays in the backfield all game. Too much pressure for Jones and the offense to get comfortable.

31. 17. 57. Prediction. 21

Matt Nagy had the Chicago Bears looking like contenders in 2018. 2019, they regressed, and Mitchell Trubisky took a step back. Now, the team projects to be around a .500 club and they did not pick up Trubisky’s fifth-year option. Nick Foles was brought in this offseason to battle it out with Trubisky. Last year, the Chicago defense bailed the Bears out against the Giants. This year, the Giants will capitalize on their chances and leave Chicago with a win.

Prediction. 33. 42. 13. 31

The San Francisco 49ers almost won the Super Bowl in 2019. After letting the lead slip late, this team will be determined to get back to the same place in 2020. John Lynch made sure to add and recoup what was lost, in order to position the team for another Super Bowl run this upcoming season. This one is easy to predict. One team is built to contend, while the other team simply is not. A strong defense and an innovative offense from the Niners will lead to a lopsided loss for the Giants.

Prediction. 20. 31. 27. 51

When the Giants fly to Los Angeles to play the Rams, it won’t be against the same team that was playing in the Super Bowl in 2018. Sean McVay’s team has been rather stripped down since. Currently, the Rams look to be an eight to nine-win team. With Aaron Donald, Jared Goff, and the offensive mind of McVay, that seems like a fair estimate. Goff will lead the Rams to a win, but the Giants will play it close in the loss.
