Weeks 1-4

31. Final. 14. 55. 17

There is zero reason why the Steelers should lose to the New York Giants, but they always seem to lose one weird game during the season. Even during their 13-3 season of 2017, Roethlisberger threw five interceptions against the Jaguars in a major loss.

Here, Daniel Jones provides some heroics, and the Steelers offense just can’t get going. There’s no real explanation, it’s just one of those strange games where the offense doesn’t come to play. It’s not turnovers. It’s just a lack of execution, and they leave Giants Stadium with a loss.

17. 45. 21. 55. Final

This game looks closer on paper than it was on the field. The Steelers go out to an early 14-0 lead in the first quarter off a nice opening drive capped by two Ben Roethlisberger 3rd down conversions and an Eric Ebron touchdown catch.

Drew Lock then throws an interception on his first drive, leading to an easy touchdown drive. Lock ends up driving to score with less than a minute left, but the Steelers get the onside kick, and they take down the new-look Broncos offense at home.

34. 55. Final. 20. 10

This is more about the problems with the Houston Texans than the play of the Steelers, although they do have a good game here. Bill O’Brien took a team that looked like it was in good shape and he just made too many moves.

Now, the Texans are facing an uncertain 2020 without a first-round pick. Deshaun Watson has a rough game, as the Steelers put together a really good game plan that has him second guessing his decisions. An interception in the second quarter by Minkah Fitzpatrick sets the tone, and he can never really throw the team back into the game. Easy win for Pittsburgh.

55. 28. 35. Final. 20

The Tennessee Titans brought back the majority of their offense that ran to the AFC Championship game, where they lost to the eventual champion Kansas City Chiefs. Derrick Henry returns on the franchise tag, and we can see head coach Mike Vrabel running him until the wheels fall off. What do they care? He likely won’t be there in 2021.

Ryan Tannehill is good enough to win games, even if he’s not a superstar. The Steelers get the ball with three minutes remaining, but a clock management blunder has us questioning Mike Tomlin for the first time this season. Overall, it’s one mistake that costs them 30 seconds, but it’s something that dominates the debate shows all day on Monday.
