The trade of Jalen Ramsey left the Jacksonville Jaguars down their top corner, and salary cap concerns forced them to trade A.J. Buoye this spring. Jacksonville spent its top draft pick to fill one of those holes, taking CJ Henderson out of Florida.

The local product drew rave reviews for his coverage skills in college, making Henderson a candidate to start from Day 1. Some NFL scouts reportedly rated Henderson ahead of Jeff Okudah, who went third overall to the Detroit Lions, on their draft boards.

Henderson was a bit of a polarizing prospect, however, due to some questioning how passionate he really is about football. There is no doubt that Henderson has the pure talent to succeed in the NFL, but if his drive isn’t there that could be a problem.

Henderson should be thrown to the wolves right away and opposing quarterbacks will look to take advantage of him during his rookie year. Jacksonville needs Henderson to adapt quickly to the rigors of NFL life in order to have a chance at success.
