Buffalo Bills

A lot of the Bills hopes rest on the development of Josh Allen, their young quarterback. Allen improved in 2019 but is still far from the finished product, completing 59 percent of his passes, throwing 20 touchdowns and nine interceptions. Regardless, that’s a stark improvement from his rookie season, where Allen whiffed on almost half of his throws.

For Allen to take a leap, the Bills had to give Allen a true top option at wide receiver. They did so in acquiring former Minnesota Vikings wideout Stefon Diggs, one of the top targets in the league. A clean route-runner with breakaway speed, Diggs will be a welcome sight.

On defense, the Bills got even stronger in the secondary by providing some help to All-Pro corner Tre’Davious White, with Josh Norman and E.J. Gaines joining the roster in the offseason. Norman looked past his best with the Redskins over the past few seasons but operating as the top corner on the team is no longer his modus operandi.

The Bills took steps to improve their pass rush too, adding Mario Addison from the Carolina Panthers and selecting A.J. Epenesa in the second round. Sean McDermott has pioneered one of the best defenses in the NFL since taking the head coaching job and those recruitments will only further that notion.

With the Patriots in a decline, now is the time for the Bills to take the AFC East.
